Taxiphyllum barbieri (Java Moss)
The aquarium moss that will grow just about anywhere.
Java moss is one of those plants that earns its place in almost any tank. Tough, adaptable, and ridiculously useful, it can be attached to wood and rock, used to soften hardscape, or simply left to grow into a dense green clump.
It doesn't ask for much - and that's exactly why people love it.

Java moss is not interested in making your life difficult.
Give it some water, a bit of light, and something to cling to, and it'll usually get on with the job.
Trim it regularly for a tidy aquascaped look, or let it grow wild if you're after something a little more natural.

- Great attached to driftwood, rocks, caves, and other hardscape.
- Works well in the foreground or midground, depending on how it's trimmed.
- Especially useful for creating moss-covered branches, rocky details, and sheltered areas for fry.

If you can't find somewhere to use Java moss, you're probably not trying hard enough.
Cheap to run, hard to kill, and useful in everything from beginner tanks to proper aquascapes. There's a reason this stuff has been around forever.
